Things to do and see around here

LIGO at Hanford: Our very own ear to the universe: LIGO stands for Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory and it is truly an amazing facility. We are so lucky to be one of the few places on earth to have one!  Every 2nd Saturday of the month they are open to the public with exhibits and free tours starting at 1:30 PM - don't miss it! Here is a link to a website - there are several: http://www.ligo.caltech.edu/

DIRECTIONS to get there: From the Richland Bypass HWY or from Stevens Drive take HWY 240 West (to Vantage) go 8.2 miles, turn right onto Horn Road or Route 10, go 5 miles, LIGO is on the left.

Amphitheater at George overlooking the Columbia River Gorge:

The most amazing place to watch and listen to great performers. We saw Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Jethro Tull, Santana, Chicago, Brian Adams, Cindy Lauper, Jeff Beck to name a few. Here is a link to this summer's schedule.
